Volunteering for Scouting is easier than you think.
We are currently looking for young people and adults to be part of something BIG and join our scouting adventure at 8th Cheam.
Volunteer for just 4 weeks and be amazed at the difference you’ll make.
Week 1…see what we get up to
Week 2…start to help out
Week 3…get a little more involved
Week 4…you’ll know if Scouting is for you.
Roles are flexible. The group offers either supporting our young people or supporting the group from behind the scenes.
But, any help is truly amazing.
Then consider the list below. For instance, this could be on a regular or occasional basis. You do not necessarily have to undertake training or wear a uniform. There are a wide range of opportunities to fit around your interests and the time that you can give.
- Could you help on parent rota at our section meeting?
- Could you help raise funds for the Group?
- Would you stand for election for a year on our Executive Committee?
If you would like to or need further information on volunteering for the position of leader, helper or a committee member, please email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Group Executive Committee
This is vital for the running of the group as they make collaborative decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure the best quality of scouting for your children.
The Executive Committee exists to support the Group Scout Leader (GSL) in their duties and are financially and legally responsible for the running of the Group.
The individuals who make up the Exec act as charity Trustees for the best interests of the children in every decision they make. Our group cannot run without it.
To enable the Group to continue running effectively, filling leader and executive roles has to be our main priority so that the group can continue to offer the best scouting experience in Cheam.
