Remembrance Sunday

Sunday 10th November 2024

Each year, 8th Cheam Scout Group joins with the Cheam community for our Remembrance Sunday memorial service.

The Remembrance service is held outside Cheam library at the memorial monument followed by a church service in St. Dunstan’s Church.

Following the church service everyone is welcome to join us for tea’s and coffee’s back at the Scout Hall.

The following arrangements are for all sections:
• 10:15 – Meet at 8th Cheam HQ, parade from the HQ to the Memorial.
• 10:45 – Memorial service outside Cheam library
• 11:15 – Remembrance service, St. Dunstan’s Church
• 11:50 (approx.) – Parade back to 8th Cheam HQ for dismissal, tea’s and coffee’s.

The services are open to everyone, so please join us throughout if you wish.

This is one of two events we kindly ask that every member attends each year and, as we are in public, we ask that everyone is smartly dressed in full uniform. (It’s also a good time to display all those badges you’ve sewn on to your uniforms!)

We will be parading our flags to and from our HQ in Springclose Lane, so will meet at our HQ at 10:30am sharp ready to parade round to the library.

Please wear a poppy if you can and bring a coat in case the weather isn’t great. We’ll also need parent helpers to walk alongside the parade from the HQ to the library (and back after the service), so please help if you can.

Yours in Scouting,
