Scouts

Scout Group Cheam

Scouts are the third section of the Scouting movement. From the first experimental camp for 20 boys in 1907 the UK now has over 499,000 boys and girls aged 10½ -14½ years involved in Scouting.

What do our Scouts do?sct-actvty-bdgs-2

Our Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live. This encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes.

Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, and participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.

Being outdoors is important, and a large part of our programme is given over to taking part in traditional Scouting skills, which include:

  • camping
  • survival and cooking
  • wide games
  • night hikes
  • themed camps
  • and a wide spectrum of adventurous activities from abseiling to zorbing.

When do our Scouts meet?

Our Scouts meet between 7.15 – 9.15pm on Monday evenings (during school term).

How do you join our Scouts?

If you would like to join, just get Mum, Dad or the person who looks after you to email us, at the address below, with your name and age and we will forward an application form to you or why not just come along to one of our meetings… and we’ll take it from there.
