2018 Scouts 8th Cheam CentredDiary Dates 2018/19

Please note these dates as they are important events in the Scouting/Group calendar
OR are held to help raise funds for the Group

  • 25th-26th November – BOUNDARY FENCE PROJECT
  • 2nd December – Group Carol Service
  • 28th April 2019 – St. George’s Day Parade
  • On going – Fence Project III – Boundary Fence Renewal – we need help!

HQ Maintenance Dates 2018/19

This is nearly always held on the first Saturday of every month.

The hall is open from 10.30am to 5.00pm approx. Most tools supplied.
Tea & Coffee supplied (lunch if helping for most of the day).

  • Boundary Fence Project – on going – see dates above
  • We urgently need help repairing and updating the plumbing in the boys toilet.
  • Maintenance – 1st Dec ’18
  • Maintenance – 2nd Feb ’19
  • Maintenance – 2nd March ’19

2018 Scouts 8th Cheam CentredBBQ/AGM a sunny success.

On Sunday 8th July, 8th Cheam held its AGM and summer BBQ at our HQ.

The afternoon commenced around 1.30 p.m. The first item of business being the A.G.M., which the Chairman dispatched with speed.  All the necessary items were covered, the Annual Report and Accounts from the Chairman, Treasurer and GSL which were available in printed form were accepted by the meeting.

The GSL re-elected the Chairman, the Treasurer and Secretary were also re-elected for another year

After a short speech from the District Representative our GSL gave a short PowerPoint presentation on Scouting’s new image and aims for the next five years.

The AGM drew to a close with the Chairman thanking everyone for their support.

At about 2.30 p.m. the BBQ food, burgers, chicken, sausages, along with five tasty salads kindly donated by the parents, was ready. As the weather was glorious the decision was taken to move to the lawn (well sort of) at the front of our HQ.

Our thanks goes to all those that did the big shop and those that helped cook the food on the BBQ and the executive members for arranging a successful AGM/BBQ.
